There is going to be pain either way
I’m going to get really real and raw with you.
No matter which road you choose in life, even if you think it’s safer or more stable, there is still going to be pain. There is still going to be disappointment, uncertainty, moments of fear, and doubt. It’s part of the human experience. It’s not something you can avoid. As long as you are a human being, you will experience these emotions.
And what a blessing that is!
You get to, as a human being, experience a vast range of emotions, including joy, excitement, courage.
Sometimes clients come to me with a new idea or vision for something they want to create, and what they really want coaching on is how to avoid all the feelings of doubt, fear, sadness, anger that they are experiencing along the way to creating their vision.
I tell them, “sorry there is no way to avoid all of those feelings.” You just get to feel all those feelings and do the work anyway. You get to learn to process your feelings, move through them, and still climb the mountain.
So, since there is no actual way to completely avoid pain, doubt, or disappointment in life, and now that we’re all on the same page – meaning these emotions will be present no matter what route or road you choose in life as long as you’re a human being – wouldn’t it make sense to choose the road you really want?
I mean, if it’s going to be a bumpy ride no matter what, you might as well be working towards what it is you really want to do in life. You might as well live life going after the thing you truly want!!!
There’s going to be pain, doubt, and uncertainty no matter what.
You can learn to manage those feelings.
So just go do the thing you really want to do! Don’t try to live life avoiding the pain or the doubt, because they’re unavoidable.
Instead, focus on going after the thing that you really want, and learn to manage all the feelings that come up during that ride!
